Jim Evans, Arlington, TX
January 16, 1936 - August 29, 2021
James "Jim" Evans, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at home on August 29, 2021. He was truly a renaissance man…a successful engineer, a talented painter, a world traveler and a generous soul with a heart for those less fortunate. The Upstairs Gallery valued Jim's friendship and so many admired his beautiful paiintings. Jim was a good friend of the gallery and we will miss him along with those that attended his watercolor classes at the gallery.
Jim painted for many years, primarily in watercolor and acrylics, all starting from his classes with Al Brouillette. His main interests in subject matter were landscapes and street scenes. His works reflect local subjects and reference material inspired by his travels.
In addition to taking various college-level art classes, he participated in workshops and studied with many fine local artists. He studied under numerous nationally renowned arttists while attending the
Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.
His works have been accepted in several national juried shows, including SWS, SWA, Stars of Texas, and Bosque Arts Center.
